We Lost One Of The Quiet Ones: Clarke Schiller

It is with great sadness that Rubicon Trail Foundation notes the passing of Clarke Schiller.

There are those who frequent the Rubicon Trail who are bigger than life, and everyone knows. Clarke was one of those who wheeled consistently, volunteered relentlessly, and donated generously, but you might not know him. He was a Rock Award winner in 2023, a Jeepers Jamboree Rockroller, and spent many days and weekends working on RTF projects, and especially loved spending time at the RTF property.

What many of you don’t know is that Clarke designed and built all of the Rubicon Rest Stops, the outhouses on the trail…so I guess we have all been close to him!

He was our friend, fellow wheeler, colleague and co-worker.

He shared our love for the Rubicon.

Rest easy, Clarke.
