Forests & Governments

Tahoe National Forest (TNF) Tahoe National Forest contains about eight miles of the Rubicon Trail from Miller Creek at the base of Cadillac to the rim of the Tahoe basin where the trail enters the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.

Like the ENF, the TNF has no jurisdiction over the trail. The trail becomes a Placer County road in the same area the trail enters the TNF. The trail travels about nine miles through the Truckee Ranger District of the Tahoe National Forest.
